Jesus’ ministry began with the message that with his arrival, the "Kingdom of God was at hand.”
The Kingdom of God is what Jesus talked about more than any other thing. It saturated his teaching and was the subject of most of his parables. In fact, Jesus described his whole work as the fulfillment of all Old Testament promises:
that God would come to deliver his people from their sins and establish his heavenly rule right here on the earth, forever!
It’s the story from Genesis to Revelation - God’s merciful rule invading the brokenness of this world. It’s what the whole world’s been waiting for, and the future for which we are destined. For 4 days we’re going to talk about God’s plan for the world, how Jesus is the center of that plan, and in what ways God calls us, as his people, to participate in its coming!
